Our Engagements

Three Ways We Can Work With Your Board

Each engagement is defined, priced, and structured in advance. You know what you are entering before anything is agreed.

Our Approach

How We Approach Every Engagement

Before any engagement begins, we conduct a short introductory call at no charge. This is not a sales conversation; it is an opportunity for both parties to establish whether the engagement makes sense.

We then provide an engagement letter that sets out scope, fee, timeline, and deliverables. Nothing is left open. Work begins only when the letter is signed.

Throughout the engagement, we communicate directly with the director or directors concerned — not through intermediaries. Written deliverables are reviewed by a senior practitioner before release and may be returned for factual revision.

A well-structured engagement letter protects both parties. We write ours to be read and used — not filed and forgotten.

Engagement Principles

  • No work begins without a signed engagement letter
  • Senior practitioner conducts and reviews all work
  • Written deliverables are factually reviewed before release
  • Confidentiality maintained beyond engagement close
  • Conflicts disclosed and discussed before proceeding

Engagement 01

Board Practice Review

A considered examination of how your board currently functions — how meetings are prepared, how decisions are reached, and how minutes and resolutions are kept. We conduct confidential conversations with individual directors, review recent board papers, and observe a meeting where permitted.

The outcome is a written review setting out the patterns we observed, with suggestions offered in the spirit of support rather than critique. Suited to boards of private companies, family businesses, and medium-sized listed entities in Malaysia.

What This Engagement Covers

  • Confidential one-to-one conversations with each director
  • Review of recent board papers, agendas, and minutes
  • Observation of a board meeting, where permitted

  • Discussion session to walk through the findings

Board Practice Review
Directors often find value in the conversation itself, quite apart from the written report. Speaking confidentially to an independent practitioner about board dynamics is a rare opportunity.
Governance Framework Advisory
A board charter that reflects how the board actually intends to operate is a useful document. One drafted to meet a filing requirement is not. We draft for the former.

Engagement 03

Director Briefing Session

A compact engagement for individual directors or board members preparing for a particular responsibility: a new chairmanship, a committee role, or a governance transition. Before the session we exchange a short brief describing the context.

The session itself lasts two hours and is held in confidence, organised around the specific questions the director wishes to think through. A short written note follows, along with a small reading list suited to the matter discussed.

What This Engagement Covers

  • Organised around the director's specific questions

Director Briefing Session
Many directors arrive in governance roles without a dedicated opportunity to think through what the role actually requires of them. This session creates that space.
